Here at RIU we are having an orange moment.  And I don’t think we are alone.  It seems that the fashion and accessory industries are also feeling this orange hue, as it was one of the colors highlighted in this Spring’s color trend line-up.  (Blogged about last week here.)  While I personally do not gravitate to orange when picking out clothing, accessories or home decor – for the moment I am totally digging Orange and it’s many shades this season.

Tomorrow is an exciting day here at RIU!  After a couple months of planning it’s finally the day for our Spring 2011 Collection Photoshoot!  We’ve scouted the perfect location and can’t wait to see our new Spring products come to life!  I can’t wait to share all the details with you all – for now I will leave you with our happy weather forecast for the day – and a few spring inspirational pieces.

With the threat of tropical storm Paula on the horizon, it got me to thinking about some of my favorite rainy day must haves.  See my Polyvore set for some fun ways to stay chic in a rain shower!  1.  RIU Umbrella - I love our windproof, auto-open umbrellas and not only are they super functional - but cute to boot.  Step away from the boring black umbrella and into this fun one with polka dots! 2. Fun Rain Boots – whether they are our Confetti Dot printed boots (brand new to our collection!) or some classic hunters in a bright new hue, you’re sure to stay dry with a pair of wellies!  3.  A classic trench – I love trench coats.  I three words: classic, chic and practical – pair it with a bright colored scarf!  4.  A hot cup o’ coffee – need I say more?  5.  iPod – play some upbeat tunes while you’re walking in the rain and it’ll be sure to turn your day bright!  What do you love on a rainy day?

That’s right, RIU is heading back to college this month.  Not just one college – but five!!  We are loading up a RIU emblazoned SUV and hitting the road!  From August 18th through 24th Kristin and I will be traveling through the south to visit five southern schools, all whilst spreading the word about Room It Up!  Join us for one-day events outside the following campus bookstores – University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of West GA, UNC – Pembroke and UNC – Chapel Hill!  Check out our event pages on Facebook – if we are visiting your school be sure to RSVP!  We’ll be handing out loads of fun giveaways!!!  Hope to see you at one of the tour stops!
