It might be a little early to start setting out your holiday decor… however it’s never to early to plan for it!  This year I am all about color and sparkle for the holidays.  I like the idea of breaking out of the traditional red & green, blue & white mold and doing something with a little more whimsy.  Those sparkle lights are pretty cool too as they do not need to be plugged in – I can’t help but think about all of the possibilities!

Well it’s about that time of year…with Christmas only 10 days away and Hanukkah in full swing people just can’t seem to get enough of the crazy holiday season!  Whether it’s finding the best deal on gifts, dressing up for the many holiday parties or decorating your house, office… or even car… (see below!) it’s obvious that people enjoying throwing caution to the wind and going all out all in the spirit of the season.  It’s all of the craziness of this very season that inspired us for our new Strange Holiday Sighting Contest!

This morning on our daily drive to work we spotted this Ferrari-Snoopy-Claus, and while we would like to think of this sighting as an isolated incident, we are sure that there are many more strange, odd, crazy and even bizarre holiday sightings similar to this very one.  Here’s the deal!!  From now until Dec 24 we invite you to upload your crazy, strange, weird, outstanding, fabulous, odd (etc, etc…) holiday sighting photos to our blog picture album or Facebook fan page.  Then during the 5 days between Christmas Day and New Years Eve, we’ll select our favorites and allow YOU to vote for the winning  picture on our blog.  The winner with the most votes will then be announced on January 1st 2010 and will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to Room It Up! Whew!  What a way to start off the new year!

Can’t wait to get started?!  Upload your pics of all of the: Crazy light displays, the Clark Griswald-esque houses in your neighborhood, wacky Santa costumes, pets dressed as reindeer, etc that you spot from now until Dec. 24!!!  With this one the crazier the better!!  Can’t wait to see what everyone finds… also if any of ya’ll could find some pictures with some SNOW that would be amazing… as we are lacking that form of precipitation here in South Florida
