Here at Room It Up it’s no secret that we just love love love COLOR! In fact it’s something that some of us here in the office talk about 90% of our work day! Maureen (our head designer and VP) travels from NYC to London seeking out the hottest color trends for the seasons. Below I have listed some of the key colors we are showing in our Spring/Summer 2010 collection and what inspired us to incorporate them into our looks. Enjoy!
Turquoise - The official “it” color of the season! While we always have shown our love for the fabulous color that is turq – this year we chose to include it in two of our biggest launches – Bright Bloom and Dream Dot. While it isn’t the main color of either of these two prints – we still think it adds a special touch and compliments all of the contrasting and complimentary colors in both of the prints quite well. Here is S. Florida our office walls are even painted a shade of turquoise… you can say that we literally surrounded by it!
Red – This classic bright is something we just couldn’t wait to introduce in a big way for this Spring/Summer. Red is everywhere whether it’s on the runways at bryant park, a nautical inspired tank, a striking shade of lipstick – even the red on the american flag… red is all around and ready to make a statement. We just love how this bold shade compliments to the other brights in the fun, floral statement that is Bright Bloom.
Purple - You heard it here Purple is back – and it’s back in a big way! Here at RIU we couldn’t be more excited to introduce this delicious plumy – berry shade to you via our SoHo Swirl statement. When our creative team was drawing color inspiration they couldn’t help but see purples emerging everywhere – plaids, florals, etc – and honestly I think they were spot on. I don’t know about you but who didn’t just love Sandra Bullock’s Golden Globe gown that showcased a vibrant color of purple?
Well there you have it. Our color inspiration for Spring/Summer 2010. Now we have to ask… what inspires you?
