Today’s color spotlight is one of my favorite up-and-coming colors:  Emerald.  I am not sure if it’s because it reminds me of my favorite musical of all time, but I just really love this unexpected green hue.  I have seen emerald popping up here and there in my favorite blogs and magazines – however I expect it is going to emerge as a big player in the next couple seasons to come.  What do you think?  Do you love emerald too?

Lately I have been noticing a fun trend emerging in the sunglass arena – enter the Cat Eye sunnies!  I think this is a fun and welcome change from all of the aviators that have been popular for so long.  They are definitely a statement piece – but the good news is that depending on the size of the frames the style looks good on most face shapes.  See below for a few of my favorites!  Loving this trend… Yet another return of the retro if you will!

Sorry for my MIA of posts lately!!  We have been busy over here at the RIU office – that is when we are actually in the office!!  So far we have jumped right in to 2011 by attending trade shows in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and NYC!  Before I head off to Las Vegas (MAGIC!!) I wanted to share a little Valentine’s Day inspiration with you all.  Secret – valentine’s day is actually one of my favorite holidays.  What can I say?  I just love hearts, sparkles and memories of little paper valentines stuffed into homemade boxes in grade school.  Are you doing anything fun this valentine’s day weekend?

What is your favorite color to decorate with in your home?

I don’t know about you – but I love Nail Polish – it’s one of the best ways to change your look and accessorize without too much commitment!  For around $8.00 for a bottle you can instantly change up your look and make a fashion statement.  OPI and Essie have recently come out with some great colors and I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of them were in similar shades to our Fall’s most popular print: Confetti Dot!!  I am loving all of these – and will for sure have to pick up that OPI Sparkle-icious – how fun!  What is your favorite nail color shade to wear right now?
